Tony Amaro, Facilities Maintenance Worker, is known around the office as a jack-of-all-trades and can always be found with a smile on his face.

What drew you to want to work in the water industry?

I worked for the County of Orange for 23 years, but when my family expanded, I wanted something that required less travel and was closer to home, so I stumbled upon this role and have been here for five years now.

What would the community find surprising about your role at Mesa Water?

Since we are a smaller water agency, our staff often wear many hats. The variety of tasks I do would be surprising to the community ā€“ from handling facility maintenance at our offices and treatment facility, fleet inspections, to drywall repair and masonry work ā€“ my position is very diverse.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My coworkers ā€“ we have a lot of great people who work here.

When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing?

On my time off, I enjoy snowboarding, kayaking, going to concerts and having beach days with my family. I love outdoor activities.
