Mesa Water District Launches Video Contest for Local High School, College Students; Top Prize: $500 Posted: Tuesday, September 1, 2020 Costa Mesa, Calif. (September 1, 2020) ā In celebration of its 60th Anniversary,Ā Mesa Water District (Mesa WaterĀ®) is looking to promote water awareness and nurture creativity as the District launches theĀ 2020 Mesa Water Matters Video ContestĀ for high school and college students in its service area. This yearās video contest theme is āMesa Water Matters.ā The contest is open September 1 to October 31, 2020. Three winners will receive the following prizes: 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, and 3rd place: $200. How to Enter Students are encouraged to create a fun and informative 60-second video highlighting the theme āMesa Water Matters,ā and the differenceĀ Mesa Water makes in the community. Topics could address areas such as water education in local schools, participation in community events, conservation programs such as drought-tolerant gardens, or Mesa Waterās role as a long-standing provider of safe and healthy drinking water. Videos must be submitted by 5 p.m. on October 31. The video and entry application must be uploaded as two separate files via Dropbox atĀ http://ow.ly/hYaa50B5S1f. Videos should not exceed 250 MB and will be evaluated for the following: Accuracy & Effectiveness Creativity & Originality Production Quality Entertainment Value The top three videos will be selected by a panel of judges. Winners will be notified on or before November 6 and will be recognized on Mesa Waterās website and social media channels. Students must attend school in the Mesa Water service area, which includes Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach and some unincorporated areas of the county.
