Conservation Corner: “Spring” into Water-Wise Gardening!

Posted: Tuesday, March 3, 2020

With the change in seasons upon us, here are some springtime tips to help you maximize your water efficiency:

  • Now is a good time to turn on and test sprinklers (because you’ve had them off during the rain), and flush out the drip systems.
  • If you’re planning to add California Friendly and Native plants to your garden, make sure to get it done before spring ends.
  • Spring is a good time to freshen up the mulch in your garden. Natural mulch reduces moisture loss in soil, helps prevent weed growth, and puts the finishing touch in a California Friendly garden.
